ABS Admin is a management tool for a self-hosted Audiobookshelf server. It is an independent, unofficial app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Audiobookshelf project. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.
Information We Collect
None. ABS Admin has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no tracking of any kind. The developer receives no information about you or your use of the app.
Your Server Connection
To use ABS Admin, you sign into your own Audiobookshelf server. When you do:
- The server address and an access token (or, if you use the token option, the token you provide) are stored on your device in the iOS Keychain. Your password, if you sign in with one, is exchanged for a token and is never saved.
- This information stays on your device. It is not transmitted to the developer or to any third party.
- The app communicates directly and only with the server you enter. All library data, metadata, statistics, users, backups, and media that you view or change are exchanged between your device and your server.
Signing out removes the stored connection from your device. It does not change anything on your server.
Content on Your Server
ABS Admin lets you view and manage the content on your own Audiobookshelf server, including editing metadata, organizing collections, managing users, creating backups, uploading files, and (only when you deliberately enable it) deleting items. These actions happen directly on your server, under your own account and permissions. The developer neither sees nor stores any of this content.
Uploading and Moving Files
If you upload an audiobook, or move a book between libraries, the audio files pass between your device and your own server (a move temporarily downloads files to your device and uploads them to the destination library, then removes the original from the server). These files are handled only to complete the action you requested and are not sent anywhere else. Temporary copies created on your device during a move are deleted when the action finishes.
Demo Mode
ABS Admin includes a Demo Mode that runs entirely on built-in sample data with no server and no account. Demo Mode makes no network requests to any server and collects nothing.
Purchases
ABS Admin is free. It includes an optional Tip Jar with in-app purchases that support development and unlock nothing. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. ABS Admin does not receive or store your payment information; Apple's handling of purchases is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Third Parties
ABS Admin does not share information with third parties, because it does not collect any. When you use a feature that queries a metadata provider (for example, matching a book against Audible, Google Books, iTunes, or Open Library), that request is made by your Audiobookshelf server, not by the app, using the search terms you provide. Refer to those providers' policies for how they handle requests to their services.
Children's Privacy
ABS Admin is a server administration tool intended for the person who runs the server. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
